A Joint Effort in Lost Time

I catch glimpses of you

in my camera obscura.

Short bursts of light,

flashes of your form

held steady

for a few seconds at a time.

In this darkened room,

built with the bricks

of my own misgivings,

I'm illuminated

with warmth and colour

spilling through a pinhole

held in my hand.

Reflections of your life

cast on the walls

of my inverted thoughts.

Blurry are your surroundings,

only hints of what

or where your

life has taken you.

I want to reach through,

to touch the previously ephemeral (being)

and be frozen in time,

like a box of broken watches.
